WFA Secretary-General Dongge Visits Japan's Leading Medical Group AS Medical Support

AS Medical Support is a comprehensive medical group integrating stem cell and immune cell research, manufacturing, and clinical treatment. Its portfolio includes the Kyushu Regenerative Medicine Center—specializing in cell research and cultivation—as well as five clinical medical centers nationwide. Leveraging exceptional scientific research capabilities and advanced medical technologies, the group has obtained a Cell Processing and Manufacturing License issued by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW), as well as Stem Cell Clinical Quality Licenses for over ten indications, including liver disease, neurological disorders, diabetes, spinal cord injury, joint-related conditions, facial anti-aging, hair regrowth therapy, erectile dysfunction (ED) treatment, and cancer prevention (using NK cells). Notably, each license authorizes treatment for only one specific indication—a reflection of Japan’s stringent regulatory framework and high-quality standards in stem cell therapy.

As the core division of AS Medical Support, the Kyushu Regenerative Medicine Center holds a pivotal position in the field of cell cultivation. It accounts for over 50% of Japan’s total cell cultivation volume and currently ranks as the most technologically advanced and professionally specialized stem cell cultivation center in the Japanese market. The center employs a live-cell cultivation technique that excludes antibiotics and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), offering significantly higher biological activity and therapeutic efficacy compared with cryopreserved cells used by many other facilities.

In particular, for diabetes treatment, the group treats over 100 diabetic patients annually, with a documented treatment efficacy rate exceeding 60%.
