WFA Corrections

If you believe that content on the WFA website contains a factual error, outdated information, an unclear source, or an inaccurate statement, you may submit a correction request. The WFA Secretariat will review submissions against the original sources and available evidence, and respond with a decision within a reasonable timeframe.

1. What Can Be Corrected

  • News and updates (factual errors, incorrect sources, inaccurate dates);
  • Member institution profiles (institution name, address, credentials, or description);
  • Knowledge Hub articles (inaccurate medical concepts, incorrect citations);
  • Event information (incorrect dates, venues, or organiser details);
  • Official Fact Sheet content (foundational WFA information such as organisational positioning or membership structure).

2. How to Submit a Correction Request

Please submit your correction request with as much of the following information as possible:

  • The page URL where the error appears;
  • A description of the error (please quote the original text and explain what is incorrect);
  • Your suggested correction;
  • Supporting evidence (optional: links to public sources, official documents);
  • Your role or affiliation (media, member institution, general public — not required).

How to submit

Email: salina@wfaivf.com

Or use the contact page.

3. Review Process

  1. The WFA Secretariat will acknowledge receipt of your submission within 5 working days;
  2. The Secretariat will check the original source, available evidence, and any relevant party's statement;
  3. If confirmation from the member institution or original source is required, the review may take up to 10–15 working days;
  4. Once the review is complete, the Secretariat will notify the submitter of the outcome by email;
  5. Significant errors (such as serious factual inaccuracies with potential to mislead the public) will be prioritised.

4. Possible Outcomes

Correction

If an error is confirmed, the Secretariat will update the page content and note the revision date.

Clarification

If the original text is not incorrect but is ambiguous, the Secretariat may add a clarifying note or additional context to the existing content.

Retraction

If content is no longer appropriate for publication (source invalidated, significantly outdated, or otherwise unsuitable), it will be removed with a brief explanation.

No change

If the review confirms the original content is accurate, the Secretariat will explain the basis for that decision and notify the submitter.

5. Significant Errors

If a correction request concerns a significant factual error that could mislead the public — such as incorrect medical information or inaccurate claims about an institution's credentials — the WFA Secretariat will treat it as a priority. During the review period, an editorial note ("under review") may be added to the relevant content page.
