WFA Verification Policy
WFA website content is drawn from member institution submissions, institutional websites, public reports, event materials, publicly available industry information, and content compiled by the WFA Secretariat. The verification standard applied varies by content type. This page explains how each category of content is verified and the limits of WFA's verification responsibility.

1. Information Source Categories
Submitted by member institutions
Institution names, addresses, speciality descriptions, team profiles, and images — provided directly by member institutions.
Compiled from public sources
Institutional websites, public media coverage, industry databases and international standards documents — gathered and compiled by the WFA Secretariat.
Produced by WFA Secretariat
Knowledge Hub articles, the Official Fact Sheet, event notices, and other editorial content — independently produced and published by the WFA editorial team.
2. Member Institution Profiles
- Member profiles are submitted by the member institution. The WFA Secretariat performs a basic review (registration status, consistency with the institution's official website) before publication;
- WFA does not independently verify clinical data, success rates, individual physician qualifications, or service quality reported by member institutions;
- Member institution information is confirmed and authorised by the institution before it is published;
- The display of a member profile does not constitute a medical recommendation, quality certification, or guarantee of treatment outcomes;
- The last-updated date shown on each page indicates when information was last reviewed; institutional details may have changed since then, and readers are encouraged to confirm current information directly with the institution.
3. News and Updates
- News sources include: WFA official releases, member institution press releases, legacy site archives, and authorised third-party media;
- Republished articles retain the original source reference (sourceUrl), allowing readers to trace the primary source;
- The WFA Secretariat performs basic fact-checking of news content, but does not assume liability for the accuracy of third-party sources;
- If you identify a factual error in a news article, please submit a request via the corrections process.
4. Event Information
- Event information is drawn from official WFA event notices or from participation reports submitted by member institutions;
- Event dates, venues, and organiser details reflect the information available at the time of publication and may be subject to change;
- For events not organised by WFA, the information provided reflects the submitting institution's details, and WFA does not take responsibility for the completeness of third-party event content;
- To confirm the current status of an event, please contact the organiser directly or use the contact page.
5. Knowledge Hub Articles
- Knowledge Hub articles are compiled by the WFA editorial team from publicly available academic literature, industry reports, and international standards documents;
- Articles include citations to the original sources, allowing readers to trace back to primary references;
- Knowledge Hub content is reviewed periodically; older content will be labelled with its review status where applicable;
- All Knowledge Hub articles are for industry reference only and do not constitute clinical guidance — readers should consult a licensed medical institution for clinical decisions.
6. Unverified Fields
- Certain member profile fields — such as self-reported treatment statistics or success rate figures — are provided by member institutions and are not independently verified by WFA;
- Legacy site archived content may have time-sensitivity issues; the sourceUrl field should be consulted for the original source;
- Unverified fields do not represent WFA's factual endorsement of that institution or information;
- Where possible, WFA notes the information source and last-updated date on each content page.
7. Content Update Frequency
WFA website content is reviewed and updated at intervals that vary by content type:
- Official Fact Sheet: updated immediately when significant changes occur; routine review every six months;
- Member profiles: updated on request from the member institution, following Secretariat review;
- News: published on an ongoing basis with no fixed update cycle;
- Knowledge Hub articles: reviewed in principle once per year; updated immediately when the content materially changes.
Verification responsibility boundary: WFA is not a medical regulator and makes no guarantee regarding the medical quality, success rates, legal compliance or treatment outcomes of any member institution.
WFA is not a medical institution and does not provide individual medical advice. All website content is for industry reference only. Patients should consult a qualified physician or licensed medical institution before making any medical decision.
The display of a member institution profile does not constitute endorsement, recommendation, or accreditation of that institution's medical services by WFA.
